How to View Consent and Revocation Reports for your Documents

Prerequisites:

As per the new GDPR rules, where there’s consent, there’s revocation. For a business like yours, recording consents and their revocation data is of utmost importance for smooth functioning and operations. After all, should the wind blow in the opposite direction at any point of time, you must have proof, right?

In ConsentUp, tracking and recording consents as well as their revocations is an easy-peasy feat. We have dedicated tabs for it on the main CosentUp screen, which are literally just a click away. See for yourself:

But… before we proceed, it’s highly important that you understand the deal with revocations. You see, you ought to create two types of documents – contractual and consensual to cover the many legal aspects of your business.

While consent given for consensual documents (newsletters, promotional offers, etc.) can be revoked by a user at any point of time, the same isn’t true for their contractual counterparts (privacy policy, cookie policy, terms and conditions, etc.).

Which brings us back to the two tabs in ConsentUp – Consents and Revocations. You will be able to see consents given for all documents under Consents, but any revocation recorded under Revocations will be only for consensual documents.

Now that we’re on the same page, let’s get right to how to best view your consents and revocation reports – one by one.

Viewing Consent Reports

Start by clicking on the Consents tab from your main ConsentUp screen.

From here, you will be able to see the numbers recorded for each of your products on MemberFactory, CoachRack, Others (CartFog and AllyHut), or External domains. All you need to do is keep switching between them to view the numbers recorded under each.

But, that isn’t it. Go ahead – click on a number to see the full details of every consent given. For example, we clicked on “4” under the Consent field, and reached a detailed account of those four users as follows:

Here, on this screen, you will see the full Name and Email of the user whose consent was just recorded for a consent document you created and integrated into your website.

Along with it, you will also see the Date on which the consent was recorded, the IP address of the user from where they provided the consent, the Document for which the consent was provided, and even the version of that document (in case you have revised it over time).

And, all this data can be easily exported to your inbox by clicking on the Export button on the top of this particular screen.

With that, we’re half-way through! Now, let’s check out what the Revocation tabs looks like and does for us.

Viewing Revocation Reports

Just like you clicked on the Consents tab from the main ConsentUp screen earlier, this time, head to the Revocations tab.

Here, too, you will be able to see the revocation count recorded for each of your products on MemberFactory, CoacRack, Others (CartFog and AllyHut), or External domains.

Notice though; unlike the Consent field, the Privacy Policy, Terms, and Cookie Policy fields are nil, because consent once given for those three cannot be revoked by the user.

To view full details of which user revoked their consent, click on the digit below Consent, and you will be taken to a report similar to the one we saw above earlier.

And, just like your consent data, you can easily export this revocation data straight to your inbox by clicking on the Export button.

This is it – this is how you view and export consent and revocation reports for all your legal documents created on ConsentUp. Wasn’t that incredibly easy and no-nonsense? If you still have queries, reach out to our support champs and they’ll help you out every step of the way.
